Madeleine Bouissou

Madeleine Bouissou, cellist and 8th grade student at the East Ridge Middle School in Ridgefield, was the winner of the annual Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra concerto competition. The competition, which took place on January 8, 2009, consisted of performances by 8 members of the youth orchestra. Performances were judged by a distinguished panel which included Gerald Steichen, the Music Director of the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra and Associate conductor of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, pianist Lora Tchekoratova, who holds a Doctoral degree from the Juilliard School and performs internationally, and Harrison Hollingsworth, principal bassoonist of the New York City Ballet at the Lincoln Center.
