Biographies
DOROTHY DARLINGTOM
Oboist (and English horn player) DOROTHY
DARLINGTON, the holder of three degrees in
music, joined the Peace Corps immediately after her
graduation from the Eastman School of Music in
order to teach and play with the Orquesta Sinfonica
Nacional de Costa Rica for two years. Then, after
several years with the Savannah and Jacksonville
Symphonies, she joined the United States Marine
Band (“The President’s Own”), with which she
played at the White House during President Reagan’s
tenure.
Ms. Darlington currently serves as Principal Oboe with the Ridgefield
Symphony Orchestra, free-lances with a number of other organizations, including
the Greenwich Symphony, the New York Philharmonic, and various Broadway
productions, and frequently performs as a chamber musician.
