Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra welcomes new board members at Annual Meeting

Ridgefield, CT – June 14, 2010 -

 

The Board of Directors of the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra welcomed four new members to its ranks at its annual meeting, held at the Keeler Tavern Garden House. Chris Bennett, Amanda Dranow, Scott Edwardson, and Dan O'Brien, all of Ridgefield, will start three-year terms on July 1. The board also thanked Aline Lawrence, Jill Maguire, and George Orlan, whose terms end this month.

 

In her remarks, Executive Director Gina Wilson noted that the Orchestra is making good progress in several key areas, especially noting an increase in subscriptions for the upcoming year. Treasurer Suzanne Escola gave the financial report, which included a projected decrease in the funds that will be required from the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra Foundation, which manages the Orchestra's

endowment. Music Director Gerald Steichen's report, delivered by video, reviewed the past season, and highlighted the 2010-2011 season, which includes five concerts at the High School's Richardson Auditorium, including Broadway- and movie-themed pops concerts. Other reports were given by Donna Case, President of the Board, Peter Grierson, of the Governance committee, and Joe Kreitz, President of the RSO Foundation.
